Lake Keowee is a beautiful reservoir constructed by Duke Energy in 1971 with the creation of two dams and is located in upstate South Carolina in Oconee and Pickens Counties. It has about 300 miles of shoreline and is about 26 miles long and 3 miles wide. Its average depth is 54 feet. The lake is great for boating (with 9 available ramps), fishing, swimming, sailing, and other watersports. The water is very clean and pretty.


With an average high temperature is 72° or above for seven months out of the year, allowing ample time to enjoy the pristine mountain water. It is also home to two state parks, numerous golf courses, and a short drive from the Blue Ridge Mountains. The parks include:

  • High Falls Park

  • Eastotoe Park


The closest major airport, Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, is only 52 miles away. The Oconee County Regional Airport is 12 miles away.
